40 patents pending.
Békési GmbH is the company behind Sven Békési’s inventions: flying machines, mechanisms, encryption schemes and software, currently 40 patents pending. Unfortunately the good ones cannot be shown here until they are granted. It publishes HTML67, carries Project Wilhelm and holds the studio.

A blueprint to transform blue chips.
Together with former CEOs of thyssenkrupp Elevator Europe and Africa, Sven Békési developed a blueprint for the transformation of blue-chip companies. In 2019, at 18 years old and four years before ChatGPT, he began training AI models and large language models. He saw, designed, built and established a marketplace platform for the elevator industry that today sets new standards and is used by all major players. Its AI platform evi cuts maintenance administration costs for elevator systems by 20 to 30 percent.

HTML, thought further.
HTML5 has not had a real update in more than ten years. For Békési, designer and computer scientist, code is a tool that gives design room to breathe, and in recent years that tool has pushed itself into the foreground. With HTML67, an update from HTML5, he and a large developer community built a new declarative markup standard oriented towards mobile, AI and the web: it puts code in the background and gives semantics, content and art their space. Around 120 elements on top of HTML5, one stylesheet, one script, no build step.

Digitisation is a process. Processes end.
Békési never wanted to become a software developer. “It just happened.” He only dealt with code because there was no other way, and he wants to spare others that. Digitisation is a process, and hopefully one that will soon be over. The future is not to let AI do the digitising. The future is to finish it. Project Wilhelm is an open-source and lobbying project for public services of general interest. Its goal by 2030: a digital infrastructure that lets municipal utilities and chambers of commerce host decentralised data centres, so that everything from Google to Amazon to Microsoft returns to democratic hands.

Airbnb sold cereal to make ends meet. Békési sold doormats.
Mattentat is a non-profit project that started as an educational and student-company initiative, and for a while became the largest doormat shop on Amazon. Its most successful motif was Békési’s own: Klischee, the Black Forest girl, sold more than 2,000 times as a doormat and so carried art to the front doors of the Black Forest. Ten years on, the doormat start-up is still running, and still teaching.

The German Factory.
Spiritfaktur, The German Factory, is Sven Békési’s agency: a digital manufactory for brands, software and spaces. The name joins spiritus, the Latin for spirit and mind, with manufactura, made by hand, from manus, the hand. Alongside apps and websites it does what agencies rarely do by hand any more: whole walls drawn live with a black marker, foyers, shop counters and office corridors turned into one continuous doodle.

Atelier at the Gasteig, Munich.
Studio Svekesi is Sven Békési’s atelier next to the Gasteig in Munich, minutes from the museums. The room above is the studio as a small 3D model, drag to look around. Below, the real thing.
