Sigle

A typeface from the handwriting of Reinhard Sigle.

Sigle is the typeface this site and catalogue are set in. It is drawn from the handwriting of Reinhard Sigle, sculptor and architect from Rottweil, born 1954, who builds fragile three-dimensional forms from construction timber and firewood and paints them in signal colours. Sven Békési went to Sigle’s school and was in his class. Sigle shaped Békési early and supported him from the start. In 2024 Sigle sat down at his studio table and wrote the alphabet, the numbers and the signs by hand, sheet by sheet, with his own faces as emojis. The font carries that hand into every heading here.
